My Facebook notifications recently reminded us that it's been four years since my first trip to India (who says Facebook is useless)! Wow! I don't even know where the time has gone?! So I thought to share the adventures (beware of the monkeys!)!

Sorry for the MIA! We've been busy transferring to Dubai and have another big announcement coming in a few days that will explain the absence!

Teej is a festival celebrated mostly in North India and dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Parvati and the love for her husband Lord Shiva. It is said she fasted for 108 years before Lord Shiva took her as his wife. Woman pray to Pravati for a happy and long married life. The Teej Festival also coincides with the Monsoon Season.

This year was my first year in India to celebrate Independence Day. The holiday is to commemorate India's independence from the British rule in 1947.

Chandni Chowk is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi established in 1650 by Princess Jahanara, the favourite daughter of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The market is located in Old Delhi near landmarks such as Red Fort and Jama Masjid. I hadn't been there since our first trip to India in 2013 and finally convinced Hubby and MIL to come along with me. We took the metro from South Delhi and got off at the Chandni Chowk station.

Today Hubby and I decided to get out of the house and go for lunch in Khan Market. We stumbled across The Loft, the quaint 3rd floor of a Chinese restaurant called Soy. We order 2 pints of Foster and the Non-Veg Crostinis Platter which came with Grilled Chicken and Mascarpone, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese with Exotic Caper Berries, and Onion and Bacon Marmalade with Rocket Leaves. OMG! What a wonderful treat! We will defiantly be going back for the cheap beer, great service, and awesome food.
