Perhaps the word romantic is not an adjective you would often hear when describing India. In reality India is full of romantic locales with white sand beaches, snow capped mountains, monuments dedicated to a beloved wife, and luxury all-inclusive resorts.
1. Chai
My love for chai is a fairly new phenomenon ie. after being married to an Indian. I love masala chai, and ginger chai, and my absolute favourite is cardamom chai! Who knew everyday required morning chai and evening chai?
Teej is a festival celebrated mostly in North India and dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Parvati and the love for her husband Lord Shiva. It is said she fasted for 108 years before Lord Shiva took her as his wife. Woman pray to Pravati for a happy and long married life. The Teej Festival also coincides with the Monsoon Season.
1. Safdarjung Tomb
My favourite monument in Delhi (perhaps, because it was my first "attraction) is Safarjung Tomb. It was the first tourist attraction I visited in Delhi so it will always whole a special place in my heart. Built between 1753-1754 bu Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula, the son of Safdarjung, it's now located on Lodhi Road. Safdarjung tomb represents the last phase of the Mughal style architecture being built in red sandstone and buff stone and follows a similar pattern of Humayun Tomb. Located inside are two graves - those of - Safdarjung and his wife.

Hubby and I decided to have brunch in Huaz Khas Village after a night of drinks. I had seen The Smoke House from our walks at District Park and read great things about it on Zomato.
I had discovered and been dreaming about Thai High for well over a year while researching Wedding Reception venues online. I immediately fell in love but it wouldn't be able to cater our 300+ guest list. We had planned on taking my Mom (who was visiting from Canada) to Qutab Minar and decided to grab a late lunch at Thai High. And boy did it live up to my expectations!
My first international trip was to Florida at the
age of 9 with my Grandparents. I would consider my first "real" international trip to be
at the age of 21 to Australia. I spent 6 months backpacking Brisbane, Noosa,
Cairns, and Darwin.
After leaving the nightmarish traffic of Bangalore we headed to the more peaceful Pune for a quick 4 day visit with Family. With kids in tow we spent the first day at Adlabs Imagica Theme Park, halfway between Mumbai and Pune. Chachi (Me) and Chacha (Husband) had immense fun chasing around the little ones and experiencing all the rides. Best part - no long line ups!
As a side trip from Bangalore we decided to go to the district of Coorg in Karnataka. I had read and heard many great things about the area and it was suppose to be amazing during Monsoon season! We took an A/C Volvo bus to Kushal Nagar, upon arrival at the bus station the owner of Iyris the Home Stay picked us up and escorted us to his home.
