Qutub Minar | Delhi

by - 9/27/2015

Qutab Minar is located in South Delhi in the community of Mehrauli. It is easily accessible by metro with access from the Saket or Qutab Minar Stations. It's typically full of families and a nice place for a picnic. The tower was built in 1193 and is 73 m-high with five distinct stories. It was built by Qutub-ud-din Aibal after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu Kingdom. The first mosque built in India is also located at Qutab Minar. A 7 m-high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. It is said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it your wish will be fulfilled.

These families wanted my picture in return I took theirs! :)
